**Das Aufgabengebiet umfasst u. a.**:
The aim of the project is the design, generation and tomographic characterization of volumetric diffractive optical elements (VDOEs). The VDOEs are to be generated by implementing ultra-short pulsed lasers, capable of inducing highly localized refractive index modifications in suitable dielectric materials. As VDOEs are highly angle as well as wavelength selective, they offer exceptional possibilities for the miniaturization and integration of optical elements for chip-based all-optical processing, sensing and analysis.
**Tasks**:
- Computation and optimization of the internal structure of VDOEs
- Generation of VDOEs using ultra-short pulsed lasers
- Tomographic characterization of the laser-induced refractive index modifications and characterization of VDOEs
- Initiate new projects through establishing and deepening international and interdisciplinary collaborations with industrial and academic partners
- Scientific publishing
- Scientific teaching
**Notwendige Qualifikation**:
**Requirements**:
- Professional experience in industrial environment
- Experience in computational optics and electromagnetism, mathematical optimization and machine learning
- Experience in optical imaging, optical tomography and holography
- Experience in operating, set-up and working with ultra-short pulsed lasers
- Skilled in GPU programming and using programming languages such as Python or C/C++
- Professional proficiency in English
- Exceptional proactive motivation
- Excellent communication skills and capacitiy for teamwork
