The Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP investigates and develops innovative ways of early detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases resulting from impaired function of the immune system.

The research focus of our Penzberg/Munich site is on translational and clinical aspects of immunology, infectious disease and pandemic research.

In addition to treating patients with infectious and tropical diseases and providing travel medicine advice, this Fraunhofer-Institut also conducts clinical studies. These are primarily projects in countries of the global south with a focus on poverty-related diseases. Our focus is on the development and testing of new drugs and diagnostics for the treatment of tuberculosis and HIV. We also conduct clinical trials to evaluate new vaccines in various indications. - Practical experience in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the projects according to international standards for the biostistical tasks in the realization of global, multicenter clinical studies
- Discussion of possible study designs for phase 1-4 clinical trials and epidemiological studies together with the study team
- Calculation of study and sample size
- Preparation or review of SAPs and statistical reports
- Statistical analysis of the projects and support in the preparation of the result presentations
- Statistical programming (R or SAS with SDTM and ADaM)
- Program validation of clinical studies
- Collaboration with contract research organizations (CROs) and monitoring of project progress on statistical activities

**Was Sie mitbringen**
- Completed studies in the field of statistics, mathematics, epidemiology or comparable training
- Practical experience in the preparation and conduct of GCP-compliant clinical trials with methodological knowledge in the field of clinical statistics
- Good computer skills, especially with statistical analysis programs (R, SAS or Stata)
- Ability to work conceptually and structurally, result-oriented work style
- Willingness to work in an academic, intercultural environment
- Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills
