Environmental Data Scientist

We are Klim, a Berlin-based clean-tech company revolutionizing climate protection by scaling regenerative agriculture in Germany and Europe. We have launched the world’s first digital platform for regenerative agriculture, which is already being utilized by thousands of farmers. By marketing the associated climate protection services to companies, primarily in the food industry, we provide financial compensation to farmers for their regenerative practices and offer high-quality advisory services. Supported by leading investors, including Atlantic Food Labs, Ananda Impact Ventures, and AgFunder, we are now expanding our team and seeking an Environmental Data Scientist with experience to help us continually improve our digital product.
Tasks
- Utilize your environmental expertise to contribute to the development of our digital product, bringing a creative and innovative perspective from ideation to implementation
- Calibrate and validate environmental or agricultural models to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Analyze and interpret complex environmental data sets to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations
- Collaborate closely with the product team to design and implement features that are scientifically and environmentally grounded, seamlessly integrating into farmers' daily practices
**Requirements**:
- Hold a master's degree in an environmental field, agriculture, soil science, or a related discipline, demonstrating a strong academic background
- Possess experience in R and/or Python scripting for modelling and data science, showcasing your technical proficiency
- Exhibit expertise in calibration and validation of environmental or agricultural models, specifically with experience in RothC, or APSIM
- Showcase strong analytical skills, enabling you to derive insights and make data-driven decisions
- It would be great if you also have an agricultural background, providing valuable domain knowledge and context to your work
- Fluent in both German and English, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with our diverse team
