**Working Student (M/F/x) / Master’s Thesis**:
**Mission**:
We are offering a working student/ thesis position (M/F/x) for an interesting project. The EQ-5D-5L questionnaire evaluates health status across five dimensions, allowing respondents to indicate their level of functioning or discomfort. National value sets assign numerical values to these states, crucial for costutility models. This thesis aims to explore alternative methods for estimating health-state utility (HSU) in oncology, involving literature review and comparison of statistical methods using clinical trial data.

**Tasks and responsibilities**:

- Supporting our team in the field of health economics
- Assessment of health conditions and their impact on quality of life
- Utilization of the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire in clinical trials and economic evaluations
- Evaluation of health status across five dimensions: Mobility, Self-care, Usual activities, Pain/Discomfort, Anxiety/Depression
- Derivation of a health state profile as a 5-digit number from 11111 (no problems) to 55555 (extreme problems)
- Utilization of national value sets to assign numerical values reflecting population preferences
- Exploration of alternative approaches to estimating HRQoL by disease status
- Conducting a literature review to identify meaningful analysis strategies
- Comparison of different statistical methods using clinical trial data, with the possibility of statistical simulation

**Personal skills and professional experience**:

- Good programming skills in R and/or SAS
- Good knowledge of event-history analysis, longitudinal modelling. Knowledge of causality methods is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good command of English
- Self-starter, independent thinker
- We will provide laptop for working
- The student will be expected to make presentations from time to time to internal stakeholders
- Eligible to work for us in the UK
