The German Centre for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM) e.V. in Berlin is looking for a Student assistant (M/F/x/n.I.) for the methodological conception of
different surveys in the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa).
The DeZIM Institute was established in 2017 as a non-university research institute in the field of integration, migration, and conflict studies, as well as discrimination and racism. The DeZIM Institute receives funding from the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and seeks to combine excellent academic research with evidence-based policy advice.
In this project, you will work at DeZIM at the intersection of science and policy advice. You will be employed in a cutting-edge, practice-relevant research project and thus gain experience in practical research. Specifically you will work in the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa) on the development of sampling methods to reach hard-to-reach groups and on the conception, set-up and use of an online access panel. Through this work you will gain insight into various areas of the Racism
Monitor and have consistent access to current research on racism. You are welcome to use suitable data from the Racism Monitor for your own qualification work.
**Your profile**:
- enrollment at a university in a relevant field of study
- experience in working with R and/or STATA
- understanding of basic statistics
- basic knowledge of discrimination or racism research
- comfortable working in English
**Your tasks**:
- collaboration in the "National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa)"
- assist in the design of surveys of hard-to-reach groups
- assist in the implementation of surveys
- assist in the development of an online access panel
- provide independent and thorough scientific input within the project team
