**Procurement Director - Direct**

Main missions and results:

- Lead the direct procurement and SQA activity for Europe and South Africa.
- Drive efficiency reviews for the region in-line with defined goals and objectives in the area of cost, quality and supplier strategy.
- Manage and develop the regional team.
- Control and approve all program procurement activities and decisions in line with customer demands and commodity strategies within the region.
- Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships to ensure proactive cost efficiency reviews are maintained and ensure consistency and competitive sources of supply within the specific region.
- Actively scrutinise and manage the departments goals and objectives in line with company vision - Engage in management meetings and regional events
- Alignment with other regional procurement leads to ensure consistent commodity strategies and program handling within IAC standards.
- Ensure compliance across procurement functions and suppliers adhere to ethical standards and customer expectations

Main missions and results:

- The identification of potential suppliers world-wide and the evaluation of existing suppliers from the IAC supplier pool during the preliminary stage of new operative and strategic programs to guarantee the availability of an optimal supplier network in terms of quality and cost for meeting specific customers' demands (Procurement Marketing/Strategic Purchasing).
- The guaranteed compliance with IAC quality and efficiency/cost standards on the part of the potential and actual suppliers in co-operation with Engineering and Quality (Supplier Development).
- The acquisition of requisite goods (materials, services, machines, tools, systems and buildings), as well as the co-ordination of the plant purchasers to ensure the economic cost and smooth development of the engineering projects and production programs (Operative Acquisition).
- Initiate and collaborate on the development of improved cost-effective programs, e.g. VA/VE in co-operation with other BU and IAC positions (Cost Management).
- Is responsible for business planning, as well as exploiting the controlling tools to ensure the achievement of plans and objectives (Controlling).
- Professional employee guidance and promotion within the subordinate structure to guarantee employee motivation and self-reliance as well as the achievement of the purchasing goals (Leadership).
- The review and design of the subordinate structure organization and processes for guaranteeing optimal internal and external customer-oriented development and interfacing, while allowing employees independent areas of competence (Organizing + TQM).
- The successful implementation of IAC strategies specifications and guidelines in the area of purchasing, as well as ensuring that the plants are equipped with the resources and skills required for task fulfilment (Plant Support).
- Logistic management and support in the BU plants to optimize logistic costs and supply/JIT capacity (Logistic Management).

Project Related Assignments:

- Act as a Business Architect, have overall ownership of the whole Purchasing Process Area(s) and related project deliverables within the region.

Preferred skills and experience:

- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the customer and within IAC.
- Adaptability in the location of work including business travel - Flexibility to change priorities in response to changing programme demands.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or Business.
- Master's degree in business is beneficial.
- Deep analytical skills.
- Technical skills in procurement and supply chain.
- Ability to identify creative solutions in a complex environment.
- Six Sigma mindset and approach to solving problems preferable.
- Extensive proven experience in purchasing management.
- Experience of an international automotive background.
- Must speak the language of the host country.
