Marketing Specialist

**Duties**:

- Coordinates with the installation Staff Judge Advocate to ensure that terms of sponsorship are in accordance with all regulations and policies. Attends events and serves as point of contact for sponsors at events. Provides After Action Reports.
- Performs marketing functional services under the general supervision of the Marketing Manager.
- Duties include determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation, and community awareness of key Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs.
- Conducts Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising. Keeps track of viable annual events for which to seek commercial sponsorship.
- Packages events, develops solicitation packet and solicits sponsorship from local sponsors. Negotiates mutually beneficial sponsorship terms and executes all supporting documents.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A probation period of one year may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated work experience that includes events and promotion implementation management.
- Possess the ability to develop and present written and oral presentations of technical materials to non-technical personnel.
- Possess technical skills to effectively perform marketing and promotions using tools of the trade.
- Qualifying examples include experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or other similar programs), various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and Google Analytics. (_Note: Experience must be equivalent in difficulty to the NF-02 level)_.

**Highly preferred criteria**:
Minimum of 2 years related background that demonstrates experience directly related to the below duties.
- Progressive experience in sponsorship and advertising sales and marketing principles and practices. **This experience may have been gained in a commercial marketing or advertising department or agency.**
- Experience soliciting sponsorship agreements and advertising sales, developing advertising copy and implementing new programs is preferred.
- Strong computer skills
- in using a personal computer (PC) with various software programs (e.g., graphic design software, in particular: Adobe Creative Cloud, web content management systems, evolving social media platforms).
- Demonstrated experience in the use of a variety of digital and print informational marketing and media methods such as graphic arts, design, photographs, computers, broadcast, etc.
- Must possess solid organizational and detail-orientated expertise and the ability to handle numerous projects at one time.
- Knowledge of and ability to use proper grammar, spelling and standard writing styles.
- Ability to conceptualize and recommend advertising methods from written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to gather and effectively organize information.
- Ability to effectively work as a team member with flexibility to work in different positions within the department.
