Joining us as Chief of Staff (M/F/d) is a key role within BI and a perfect stepping stone in becoming an entrepreneur yourself or to take on leadership responsibility in one of our ventures, investment platforms or divisions.
You will be working very closely with the CEO of Bertelsmann Investments, who is a Member of the Bertelsmann Executive Board, offering a unique opportunity to experience the highly entrepreneurial BI spirit, to work on highly strategic projects and to gain first-hand insights into our businesses. The role is designed for a period of 1-2 years and covers a wide range of topics from operations to investing to venture building, thus perfectly preparing for entrepreneurial next steps in these areas.

**Your tasks**

As Chief of Staff (M/F/d), you will be responsible for the following activities:

- Closely collaborating with the CEO of Bertelsmann Investments/Member of the Bertelsmann Executive Board and the BI leadership team to develop and execute the organization’s key initiatives and strategy
- Taking on ownership for multiple strategic & operative tasks within BI’s global venture funds and Bertelsmann Next initiatives
- Contributing to commercial and financial due diligence of investments and investment targets
- Leading BI’s committee work for the Bertelsmann Executive and Supervisory Board
- Preparing and following up on various internal (board meetings, strategy offsites etc.) and external meetings (investors, portfolio companies etc.)
- Contributing to key internal and external communication and positioning of BI

**Your profile**

Graduated top of class in business, economics, hard science, engineering, computer science or comparable program with strong commercial mindset:

- 3-8 years of work experience, ideally in top tier management consulting, VC, PE, IB or a comparable role in fast growth start-up or scale-up
- Entrepreneurial mindset paired with profound analytical and conceptual skills and ability to handle excessively fast-changing environments
- Ambition to become an entrepreneur or take on leadership responsibility within the organization or one of our ventures
- Excellent communication skills, also in writing and compiling documents such as presentations or internal memos and external communication material
- High organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Ability to grasp new tasks quickly and ask critical questions
- Very hands-on, can-do attitude, strong solution-orientation
- Empathetic and reliable work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills with humble attitude
- Native-like proficiency in German and English
