Master Student (Masterarbeit) /Internship - Biophysical ChemistryChiffre number: 04-2023-H-NanoTI-M1 The junior research group (Nano-Thrombo-Interfaces) at the Institute for Bioprocessing and Analytical Measurement Techniques (iba) is looking for a Master student working on the characterization of newly developed drugs for inhibition of the interaction between platelet factor 4 and SARS-CoV2 spike protein.Recent studies confirmed the binding of platelet factor 4 (PF4) to SARS-CoV2 spike protein (SP) that triggers thrombotic thrombocytopenia in patients. Finding therapeutic solutions to inhibit PF4-SP binding may help to reduce complications in infected patients. Pharmacologic polyanions such as heparins are essential drugs for blood anticoagulation. Clinical data clearly showed the benefits of polyanion treatment for Covid-19 patients with coagulopathy and acute lung injury.
