Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities:

- Planning, preparing, and delivering effective, high-quality instruction.
- Ensuring student well-being by contributing to their physical and emotional welfare.
- Implementing strong classroom management according to the school’s high behavior expectations.
- Preparing students to meet national and international standardized examination program requirements and achieve growth by implementing the SABIS® Educational System in assigned classes. Click here for more information about the SABIS® Educational System.
- Monitoring academic progress and engaging in data analysis of assigned classes and individual students.
- Proctoring and marking tests according to the exam schedule and material provided by the school.
- Providing support for students with low academic performance to help them improve and become motivated to reach their full potential.
- Working in cooperation with administrators in support of students’ learning and overall educational experience.
- Communicating effectively and collaborating with colleagues about student growth and development.
- Assisting with duties that contribute to the day-to-day operation of the school, which could include but are not limited to administering diagnostic tests to and marking diagnostic tests of prospective students, proctoring exams, substituting for absent teachers, supervising students at lunch or dismissal, and contributing to assigned supervision throughout the school campus.
- Preparing for and participating in parent-teacher conferences when scheduled by the school.
- Attending school functions in support of the school community.
- Attending scheduled training sessions to enhance the understanding of the SABIS® Educational System and/or improve teacher performance.
- Performing other tasks or projects related to the role of humanities teacher as they arise and/or as delegated by the school management.

Ideal Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) in Education or a field
- Native English speaker or native English fluency
- Teaching qualification certificate is a plus
- Experience in a classroom setting
- Teaching experience in international standardized examination programs (IGCSE, IB, and/or AP®) preferred
