SECTION 2
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and assist with the implementation of all project activities in compliance with
IOM internal policies and procedures as well as the requirements of the donors;
2. Support the supervisor with the coordination and the delivery of the AVRR counselling
project services to migrants and relevant stakeholders in Germany. Conducts regular
checks on the adherence of existing procedures;
3. Monitor processes and schedules related to the project work plan and spending; where
applicable, assists in the verification of accuracy of documents, reports, etc. to ensure
correctness and compliance with relevant guidance material;
4. Draft status reports, identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the
supervisor and suggest corrective measures
5. Draft correspondence on project issues, prepare and update reports, briefing notes,
graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentations
6. Organize project events, meetings, and seminars in collaboration with external
stakeholders such as immigration authorities and other stakeholders in the sector of
migration counselling.
7. Researche, compile, and draft information materials, presentations and other visibility
materials for reports, plans, studies, briefings, training, meetings/conferences, etc.
8. Perform general administrative tasks to support the project implementation, including
the preparation and/or processing of administrative requests/documents;
9. Undertake duty travels and participate in meetings and/or events as required;
10. Supervise and administer subordinated staff members; plan and approve absences of
staff; monitor, analyse and evaluate the staff/team performances; provide guidance to
the staff members;
11. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development
Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited
academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Or
Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with at least six years
of relevant professional experience in related field.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions,
United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of
trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or
government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of
diverse cultural and national backgrounds.

REQUIRED
Fluency in English and German is required.
DESIRABLE
Knowledge of another language (French, Spanish) is an advantage.
