**Localization UX Specialist (German-speaking)**

We are seeking a creative Localization UX Specialist
- German Speaking with translation and UX writing experience to join our Localization team in Berlin, Germany. As our first-ever German Language Specialist, you will lay the foundations for crafting clear, concise, and consistent German user interface content that will help us increase customer engagement and retention in German-speaking regions.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Localization, you will work closely with our Localization Project Coordinators, English Content Designers, Product Designers, Developers, and Product Managers to deliver best-in-class user experiences that meet the needs of our German-speaking customers.

**Responsibilities**
- Review user interface content translated from English to German to create effective and engaging user experiences that resonate with German-speaking users
- Own German product content, defining voice and tone guidelines, managing our glossaries and maintaining our translation memories to ensure consistency across all platforms so as to create a unified and coherent user experience
- Provide feedback to freelance translators to drive improvements, collaborating with Localization Project Coordinators
- Collaborate with Product Designers, Content Designers, Developers, and Product Managers to make sure our products account for Germany's cultural requirements, market trends and nuances

**Be the voice of German users, participating in user testing, customer interviews and competitive research to better understand the German audience's needs and preferences**
- Advocate for localization best practices adoption within Product Units
- Help develop scalable UX localization processes that can be used across Lightspeed products and languages

**Your Experience**
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in UX writing
- Experience with translation or translation management
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, UX Writing, Communications, or a related field

**What you bring to the team**
- Native fluency in German with a deep understanding of localisation for the German market
- Exceptional written and verbal skills in English
- Solid understanding of UX writing principles
- Highly independent with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to generate innovative ideas to improve processes

**Nice to have**:

- Experience using localization software, such as translation management systems, content management systems, and terminology databases
- Experience conducting user testing to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of localized products
- Familiarity with internationalization
- Experience within the hospitality industry or passionate about restaurant culture
