We are kooky, an innovative startup that is fighting the battle against disposable packaging. Together with you, we want to revolutionize the takeaway industry with a simple, sustainable solution - the reusable-kooky-cup along with the magical kooky-return-box.

Our reusable system including our own return infrastructure can already be found in Zurich, Basel, St Gallen and Bern.

The kooky system is simple outside, but complex on the inside, and to handle all of it, we're on the lookout for a Product Lead, that would take care of the consumer, operations and hardware tech-teams respectively; keeping them aligned, and focused on providing our users the best experience possible.

Tasks

Product Development
- Lead the development of hardware products, from concept to production
- Prepare prototypes, conduct feasibility studies, and oversee the product certification process.
- Familiarity with methodologies like Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) is a big plus.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with software engineers to integrate hardware and software components.
- Ensure seamless functionality between our smart cups, return boxes, and the Kooky app.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies would be beneficial.

Quality Assurance
- Oversee the prototyping and testing processes to ensure product quality and performance.
- Implement and adhere to quality standards like ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Experience with validation procedures such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) is a big plus.

Supply Chain Management
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
- Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to optimize cost and quality.
- Knowledge of supply chain methodologies like Just-in-Time (JIT) and Lean Manufacturing would be advantageous.

- We’d really like if you bring us the following:

- Proven experience in hardware product development, preferably in the IoT domain.
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware design principles, embedded systems, and product lifecycle management.
- Experience with CAD software for hardware design and simulation.
- Familiarity with hardware testing methodologies and certification processes.
- Experience in supply chain management, including vendor negotiation and contract management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Passion for sustainability and circular economy concepts.
- You can effectively communicate with a Development Team of engineers and convince the Management Team of your ideas as well.
- You are fluent in English (German not required)
