The Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz and the University of Marburg are jointly seeking to fill a six-year fixed-term position in the Department of German Studies and Arts, Institute for Art History, and at the Marburg Center for Digital Culture and Infrastructure (MCDCI) at the earliest possible date as a
Qualification Professorship (W2) for Digital Cultural Heritage (Academy Professorship)
The Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz (ADW) focuses on the implementation of innovative, digitally oriented research projects in the humanities within the framework of the academy program funded by the federal and state governments. The professorship is part of the further qualification initiative of the Gemeinsame Wissenschaftskonferenz and the Union der deutschen Akademien der Wissenschaften.
The University of Marburg has an outstanding profile in the field of digital humanities due to traditional research centers such as the Forschungszentrum Deutscher Sprachatlas and the Deutsches Dokumentationszentrum für Kunstgeschichte - Bildarchiv Foto Marburg as well as several long-term projects funded by the ADW and innovative new initiatives in the field of digital methods and tools. This expertise is focused in the Marburg Center for Digital Culture & Infrastructure (MCDCI).
A completed university degree, an outstanding doctorate and particular pedagogical aptitude are required. Experience in the successful acquisition of third-party funds will be considered an asset.
