Scope of duties

The group studies biological roles of sphingolipids metabolism in pancreatic carcinogenesis. The tendered project investigates functional implicationd of altered sphingolipids metabolism in during pancreatic cancer development. Sphingolipids are a class of lipids involved in various cellular processes, including cell growth and apoptosis. Herein, we aim at examining the consequences of silencing of sphingolipids metabolism in pancreatic regeneration and carcinogenesis. We also aim to identify therapeutic potential of sphingolipids targeting for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. CRISPR/Cas9 mouse models and primary isolated acinar cell cultures will be the backbone of the planned experiments.
- A strong background in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field
- Familiarity with cancer cell biology and animal models
- Excellent laboratory skills in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cellular assays
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Our requirements
- initiative, inventiveness and creativity, as well as good interpersonal skills, flexibility and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Very good experience in cell culture, cell biology and molecular biology techniques as well as basic knowledge in mouse handling (e.g.FELASA B certificate) is required. Expertise in bioinformatics and basic statistics would be desirable.**Offer**:
