Further develop your expertise and join our team as **Senior Scientist I (all genders) - Bench Scientist Quantification of Biomarkers by Mass Spectrometry (permanent/fulltime)**
We are looking for a bench scientist with the motivation to support the bioanalytical method development and validation and in parallel expand the bioanalytical toolbox in our QTAS (Quantitative, Translational & ADME Sciences) department.
This means:
- You will be responsible for developing and validating bioanalytical methods for the quantification of (pre-)clinically relevant biomarkers from biofluids and tissue using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) including also report generation.
- You will also take a leading role in advancing our high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) footprint to quantify Biomarkers while helping to shape the analytical workflows to enable high-sensitive methods in parallel to data quality, cost-efficacy, and throughput.
- As a member of the bioanalytical team within QTAS you will be able to benefit from the team’s strong background in bioanalytic and will help us expand this knowledge with new technologies.
- You will work in cross-functional teams with colleagues from other AbbVie sites and functions to align the development and validation of bioanalytical methods for (pre-) clinical projects.
- As a bench scientist you will closely follow the technological landscape in the bioanalytical field and test new methods and instrumentation, including automation and digitalization of workflows.
This is how you can make a difference:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education with 10 years of experience, a master’s degree or equivalent education in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, or a related field and 8 years of experience or a PhD with some experience in industry. Professional training may be substituted for equivalent knowledge gained through work experience as an Associate Scientist/Scientist.
- You have strong practical experience in the handling and in the daily maintenance of (µ)LC-triple quad and -HRMS systems.
- You have experience in working with small molecules and proteins and their quantification from biofluids and tissue.
- You are skilled to analyze, troubleshoot and present data in a broader context, and eager to defend data during scientific debates.
- As a highly motivated, self-driven, results-orientated and highly organized person with excellent communication and presentation skills, you are driven by innovative ways of thinking to improve processes, methods, systems, products or services.
- As a global acting company, we presume excellent communication skills, including written and oral English
