Information Technology Specialist

**Duties**:

- Serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist in the Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
- Oversee implementation and modification of the Non-sensitive Internet Protocol Router (NIPR/ Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) /Coalition/ Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)/ Voice over Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) network architectures.
- Receive network, diagrams, and related networking operating systems from various sources such as design center and commercial vendors and ensure that an inventory of all network hardware and software is maintained and accredited.
- Oversee highly complex, fault isolation procedures, system end-to-end troubleshooting and repair using switch diagnostics, various network management systems and electronic test equipment.
- Provide advice and assistance to IT Planners for routine Internal Cable Distribution System (ICDS)/ Cable Distribution System (CDS)/Protective Distribution System (PDS) upgrades and Military Construction Army (MCA) projects.
- Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinate the preparation presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor
- Responsible for operation and maintenance (O/M) of all Unclassified/Classified/Coalition Network, Campus Area Network (CAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Voice over Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) infrastructure.

- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access for the duration of employment.

- This position is designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization.
