Research Assistant (PhD student)

The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (50 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hessen, Germany (TV-H E 13, 50 %).

**Tasks**:

- scientific services in research and teaching
- develop his/her own’s research projects with a high degree of independence
- multi-step synthesis of photosensitive molecules
- photochemical and biological characterisation of molecules
- bioconjugation via solid-phase synthesis
- multidisciplinar collaborative work in an international environment
- international communication of research via articles and oral presentation
- supervision of students

Within the framework of the assigned tasks, the opportunity for independent scientific work is offered, which serves one’s own scientific qualification. The time limit is based on - 2 Abs. 1 S. 1 WissZeitVG.

**Profile**:

- experience in synthesis and photochemical characterisation photoactive molecules
- ability to conduct multistep synthesis
- independent way of working
- experience or interest in biological techniques (cell culture, protein expression, well-plate assays)
- strong motivation and ability to work in a team

The willingness to pursue your own scientific qualification (e.g. a doctoral project in the field of chemistry) and collaborate with industry is expected.
