To expand our core team, we're seeking a passionate Legal Counsel who wants to play a pivotal role in building our legal infrastructure to help us revolutionise the private markets.

**How the role contributes to the company's vision**:

- Pioneering the development and broadening of bunch's legal framework as well as efforts in legal technology and artificial intelligence.
- Taking the helm in the formation of the legal department, orchestrating the company's legal strategy and ensuring strict compliance with legal statutes and industry regulations.
- Championing bunch's vision by safeguarding the company's operational integrity and fostering the creation of innovative products, underpinned by astute legal insight.

**Top responsibilities**:

- Be the second full-time legal hire at bunch and be instrumental in building our legal department.
- Build and improve the contractual and regulatory bases for bunch's products, including partnership and shareholder agreements, corporate, trust and investment documents, and service and other operating agreements.
- Conduct legal research, particularly on the varied bank and payments regulatory topics, funds law questions and matters of general company and corporate law that underlie bunch's products, and provide strategic legal recommendations on product development and navigating bunch’s regulatory environment.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with our partners and customers.
- Assist in matters of German / EU anti-money laundering, privacy and financial compliance law that are relevant to our operations.
- Own your workstreams and be responsible for project management.
- Help coordinate outside counsel and other stakeholders, in all jurisdictions where we operate.
- Join an early-stage company and get a first-hand look at how a company is built.

**Initial priorities**:

- Focus on setting up the essential legal structures and frameworks needed for immediate compliance and operational needs.
- Develop a strategic approach to handle the legal challenges associated with bunch's innovative products and services.
- Initiate and solidify key partnerships through robust and clear contractual agreements.

**What you should bring with you**:

- Hold a German qualification with "fully satisfactory" or better in both state exams, complemented by 1-3 years in corporate, finance, or funds law.
- Possess native-level German language skills and demonstrate fluency in both German and English.
- Exhibit strong skills in drafting contracts, with a keen eye for detail and a well-organized approach to work.
- Be self-driven with a keen interest in thriving within a dynamic and innovative work setting.
- Show a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to Bunch's diverse culture and team spirit.
- Reside in Berlin to ensure full integration with the team and accessibility to the office.
- Have a keen interest and background in the regulatory aspects of banking, payments, and funds within the German and EU frameworks.
