Tactical Buyer (M/F/d)

Position Summary

The Position requires experienced buyer with proven service and material operations support interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Responsibility involves a considerable amount in sourcing of materials, analytical work and development of buyers. You exhibit a can-do attitude and forward-looking mindset to work collaboratively in a dynamic, demanding environment to ensure positive customer experience and business success.

Activities include procurement of product, order processing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, and supplier performance management and Inventory management (stock optimization, demand forecast analysis, collaboration with Master and Production Planning).

General Responsibilities
- On time execution of Purchase order placement for both direct and indirect Materials
- Executes the daily procurement activities to ensure deliveries on-time, with right quantity and good quality
- Coordinates supplier deliveries to the agreed schedule, issues resolution, expediting of late deliveries
- Responsible for inventory optimization, utilizing analysis regarding slow moving/non-moving, excessive stock items, and items low in stock
- Timely invoice resolutions to ensure timely supplier payments
- Lead by example and help coordinate tasks and responsibilities within the Buyers Team
- Work with Operations, supplier quality, R&D and other departments as needed
- Adheres to approved Policies and standards
- Actively participate in cost reduction programs and continuous improvement efforts
- Minimizes exposure to excess and obsolete inventory write-offs and reworks

Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, Engineering or Supply Chain
- Some years of experience as a Tactical Buyer
- Ability to prioritize tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
- A self-starter, able to make an impact and thrive with the independence offered to her/him.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate
- Strong Experience with ERP system. Knowledge of BPCS and Felios System is preferred
- Problem Solver, resilient and Flexible.
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Fluent German and English Language skills, written and spoken
- Occasional travel may be required
