**Your role**:In this highly visible and impactful role you'll have the chance to directly contribute to the company's pipeline expansion and will be key in helping us achieve our long-term portfolio strategy.

Key accountabilities:

- Accountable for Search & Evaluation (S&E) and Scientific and Technical Due Diligence (S&T DD) of all preclinical and clinical stage assets in the non-Oncology areas overall
- Lead team of S&E and DD Leads, who are responsible for proactive search, technical evaluations and due diligences developing R&D and GCD position and alignment on assessments.
- Develop and align in collaboration with Neurology & Immunology, CM&E and Fertility TA executive leadership teams (TASELTs) the search scope in these areas
- Lead opportunistic "white space" search and S&T diligence and shape infrastructure including external advisor scientific and technical network to support evaluations and BD deals in non-TASELT opportunistic areas.
- Collaborate with RDCM members and build pool of DD resources that can be leveraged for early and nimble evaluations
- In collaboration with the scientific competitive intelligence and insights group, develop and maintain real-time landscapes that are aligned to strategy to drive proactive scouting and quick assessments of opportunities
- Partner closely with BD counterpart/s to ensure synergy and integration of EI process with BD process.
- Responsible for review of content driven by S&E and DD leads in non-oncology areas that are presented to decision making bodies and accountable for respective EI recommendations to the decision-making process.
- Build, develop and retain industry leading S&E and S&T DD team that will help achieve EI related targets for R&D.
- Build strong external network, represent the Organization at respective conferences and events & promote the company as partner of choice

**Who you are**

**Minimum qualifications**:

- MD/PhD/Pharm D degree in life sciences with 12+ years of healthcare R&D and drug development experience
- In depth knowledge and experience of drug development, spanning research and development.
- Previous leadership experience in search, evaluation and scientific due diligence is required. Strong understanding of partnering and BD process is required.
- Minimum 5 years of external innovation and/or business development experience is required. Matrix leadership/asset strategy leadership roles is a plus.
- Experience as a functional/organizational leader and line manager or proven track record of leading project strategy teams and/or matrix teams

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Ability to build effective working relationships within a short period of time
- Strong scientific and technical experience in R&D. Thorough understanding of R&D and CMC functions with proven ability to lead S&T diligences
- Solid understanding of business analyses, and ability to assess how an opportunity could fit with the business strategy
- Ability to influence and manage internal and external stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to work in intense, fast paced, matrixed, multinational work environment
- Demonstrated experience in positioning and presentation, (negotiation/deal structuring experience a plus)
- Ability to see opportunities and create value beyond the obvious by e.g., combining expertise of different partners
