New York University (NYU) Berlin is seeking a part-time lecturer to serve as lead instructor for a course entitled "Art and Ideas: The Berlin Art Scene in Context" for undergraduate students for the Fall 2023 semester (Aug 28 to Dec 15, 2023). The course provides an intensive academic exploration of Berlin’s art scene through faculty-led excursions, guest lectures, and possible artistic engagement, accompanied by scholarly readings that examine the historical and contemporary character of the city’s art scene from interdisciplinary perspectives, and is part of NYU's Core Curriculum. The course meets once per week for three hours on NYU Berlin’s campus. The sessions are a mixture of lecture, discussions and field trips; for the assignments, group work among the students is encouraged.

- Master's or doctorate degree in a relevant discipline
- Record of research and publications in the field
- A minimum of three years' teaching experience at the university level
- Fluency in English
