Plumber

**Position Summary**

This Plumber is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.

**Responsibilities**
- Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
- Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe
- Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level and plumb bob
- Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools
- Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools
- Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and calks' joints
- Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking
- Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners
- Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains
- Other duties as assigned

**Education**
- High school diploma or GED required
- Required/Supplemental Certifications: Must possess a Journey Level License District from appropriate authority

**Qualifications**
- Fluent in English
- Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Plumbing
- Must possess the ability to obtain a German Work Permit to live and work in Germany
- Must possess the ability to obtain a German driver's license for passenger vehicles (car/van/small truck/small trailer)
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, organize, and pay attention to detail
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Discretion: Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Proactive: The individual must be proactive and self-motivated to anticipate the needs of the manager
