The Trades Resource Coordinator leads the planning, development, and ongoing coordination of a co-curricular program, targeting Conestoga students, alumni, and youth 18 to 29 years of age interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades. The incumbent develops a program framework and creates/facilitates a series of workshops that focuses on soft skills development specific to the skilled trades. To promote careers in the skilled trades, the Coordinator creates a digital library of recorded workshops and other resources for self-directed use.

As the first point of contact for the program, the Trades Resource Coordinator builds relationships within the skilled trades industry, enlisting experts, and employer engagement. The incumbent develops an outreach strategy, coordinates the development of marketing materials (print/digital/social media), and actively promotes the program with prospective participants and industry experts to ensure program success.

**Responsibilities**:
**Strategy, Planning & Programming**
- Leads the design, development, and ongoing coordination of a co-curricular program targeting current students, alumni, and youth aged 18 to 29 years interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades
- Conducts an environmental scan to identify best practices in career preparation and soft skills training within the skilled trades industry
- Researches labour market trends to inform program planning and development
- Prepares annual/semester plans for workshop delivery, facilitates workshops (in person and virtually), and records workshops for self-directed access
- Works with the Talent Hub Employer Services team to coordinate employer engagement activities, such as networking events and employer panels for program participants
- Tracks quantitative and qualitative data to assess and evaluate program outcomes and inform future program delivery with a view to continuous improvement
- Coordinates recognition for participants who have completed the program (i.e. co-curricular credit for students, certificate of achievement for alumni and youth, etc.)
- Develops reports and presentations, highlighting program reach and accomplishments to support donor stewardship

**Digital Resource Library**
- Develops a “Digital Library” concept, working collaboratively with IT Services, the Online Learning Centre, and potentially external vendors
- Creates content for a series of recorded workshops to support career exploration and planning, career readiness, and soft skills development for individuals considering a career in the skilled trades
- Coordinates the filming and post-production of workshops with College services and external vendors to ensure workshops are accessible and inclusive
- Develops other digital resources, such as guides and tip sheets to support career readiness within the skilled trades industry
- Identifies helpful links to support job search and employment preparation within the skilled trades industry

**Program Marketing & Industry Liaison**
- Builds robust, long-term relationships within the skilled trades industry, enlisting employer participation in Trades activities and events
- Follows-up on industry leads generated by the Talent Hub Employer Services team, faculty, and College staff
- Develops an outreach strategy to promote the program with prospective participants and experts, employers, and professional associations in the skilled trades industry
- Utilizes social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) to promote the Program and engage with stakeholders

**Qualifications**:

- Three-year Diploma/Degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Social Sciences
- Three years of experience in career/employment advising, workshop development/facilitation, and resource development as it relates to the skilled trades, preferably in a post-secondary environment
- Knowledge of the skilled trades industry and related labour market information, Conestoga programs/credentials
- Experience in career/employment advising, programming, and resource development
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated experience in developing and facilitating experiential workshops
