Senior Scientist

We are looking to welcome a **Senior Scientist (M/F/d) Chemistry in Animal Health** to join our team in **Schwabenheim (Germany)**, near Mainz, on a fulltime and permanent basis.

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Development of viable synthetic routes to deliver target compounds and intermediates using literature, computational tools and retrosynthetic analysis
- Efficient execution of chemical synthesis in the laboratory while complying with high safety standards
- Participation in the design of new biologically active compounds, analysis of complex data sets for the generation of structure activity relationships and lead optimization
- Providing scientific guidance and advice as well as technical support for coworkers in the laboratory
- Close collaboration with chemistry colleagues as well as with other groups within Drug Discovery and R&D
- Presenting own work to stakeholders clearly and concisely, participation in project team meetings

**Your key qualification and skills**:

- PhD in organic chemistry, postdoctoral experience (1-2 years) is preferred
- Expertise in organic synthesis, state of the art knowledge in modern synthetic and analytical methodologies (esp. HPLC-MS, NMR)
- Ability to work efficiently and with ambition in the laboratory, demonstrating a collaborative working attitude
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge in medicinal chemistry is desired
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English, additional good knowledge of German is preferred
