**Description**

We are seeking an experienced Team Accounting Lead to join our finance department in Berlin, Germany.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and manage the accounting team with the Director of Finance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with German GAAP (HGB).
- Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Assist on the development and implementation of financial/accounting policies, as well as standardize procedures to improve processes and audit.
- Statutory GmbH Audit.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment across the company.
- Collaborate with other department leads to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure efficient audit processes.
- Being proactive and a problem-solver.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven accounting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of HGB accounting standards and experience in VAT filing in accordance with HGB.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (Business Central desirable).
- Fluency in German and strong proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
