In the Global Research & Development (GRD) department we work together on new technologies to reduce the overall CO2-footprint of cement and concrete. We want to be the industry leader on the way to carbon neutrality.

Therefore, we would like to expand our Cement & Binder Technology team and are looking for a Research Scientist (f/m/d) Cement & Binder Technology. The position is located in Leimen (near Heidelberg), Germany. You will report to the Team Leader Cement & Binder Technology.

**Your next challenge**:

- You conduct feasibility studies to assess technical and market potential of improved and / or novel binders
- You conduct (applied) research projects or sub-projects in larger research & development programs
- You coordinate projects in cooperation with universities and industrial partners
- Based on research results, you develop key competences and basic technologies for cementitious binder systems as basis for product development
- You run projects / sub-projects for the development of innovative binder systems
- You develop new test methods as basis for product development / optimization
- You support Group-wide knowledge management in the fields of cement chemistry and mineralogy
- You provide internal trainings in the fields of cement chemistry and mineralogy
- You support the development of patents in the field of cementitious binders and materials

**Your profile**:

- You have at least a Master’s degree in applied mineralogy, material science or equivalent, PhD is advantageous
- You have at least 4 years of professional experience in research & development or production of building materials, work experience abroad is benefical
- Good organizational, time and project management skills to complete tasks independently and in a time-efficient manner
- Strong experience in writing technical documents as well as entrepreneurial thinking and acting
- Above-average creativity, curiosity and flexibility to deal with challenging scientific tasks
- You are fluent in German and English and willing to travel abroad
