**Duties**:

- Serves as a Security Specialist for one or more security programs (e.g. Industrial Security, Information Security, Personnel Security) or their associated training requirements.
- Establishes and maintains an effective and efficient security program that supports the garrison mission.
- Interprets higher-level guidance and provides technical advice and assistance regarding the establishment of a comprehensive security program that support's the command's operations.
- Conducts internal audits and advises leadership of any program vulnerabilities or deficiencies.
- Advises management regarding policies and procedures and ensures updates and changes are made as necessary.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret (TS) security clearance eligibility with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI) based on a Tier 5 (T5) or equivalent investigation.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required for approximately 15% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) certification within their first two years of employment.
- Mission Essential Position: May be required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Fire Chief/Commander.
- Mission Essential Position: Must maintain a functioning telephone at their residence to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.
- Designated Emergency Essential (EE) Position: This position may be designated as an emergency essential position to support Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization.
- Position is considered EE because no qualified and immediate replacement exists and having it vacant would impair the effective operation of essential military support systems or adversely impact the combat mission of deployed forces.
- Designated EE: Failure to remain in this position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service (5 USC,Ch.752).
- Designated EE: May be required to take part in readiness exercises and training (e.g. Basic first aid; Basic soldier field survival skills; Laws of War/Geneva Conventions; Prisoner of War coping skills, etc. ).
- Designated EE: Incumbent must meet requirements specified on SF78, Certificate of Medical Examination, for position at overseas/deployed location and receive immunizations appropriate to the overseas location.
- Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action.
- Emergency Essential Civilians are required to sign a DoD Form 2365. (See DoDD 1200.7, DoDD 1404.10, DoDD 1400.31,DoDD 1400.32; and AR 690-11.)
