**Duties**:

- Assist with installation water quality surveillance programs.
- Provide oversight and/or consultative support to Hazardous Waste and Regulated Medical Waste Programs.
- Conduct environmental health field work including Occupational Environmental Health Site Assessments in addition to Environmental Baseline and Closure Surveys.
- Assisting with water quality program oversight by collecting monitoring samples for contaminants in drinking water systems.

- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires a valid, state-issued and USAREUR Driver’s License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command’s structure.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 30% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government travel card.
- Work requires lifting and moving heavy items up to 40 lbs.
- This position requires you to wear protective gear.

- **Specialized experience**: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which include 1) assisting with water quality program oversight by collecting monitoring samples for contaminants in drinking water systems 2) identifying, preventing, or eliminating health hazards in one or more areas of environmental sanitation 3) practical knowledge of environmental health hazards, survey techniques, control, eradication methods, and/or may have been gained in work such as biological technician, medical technician, pest control technician, quality control positions with dairy or food service industries, or environmental health worker.

- **Education**:Successfully completed 2 full years of graduate education or a have a master's degree that is directly related to the work of the position, such as Environmental Health Technician. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
- OR
- **Combination of Experience and Education**:Specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have some graduate level education as described in B, but less than the required one year. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). **Additional information**:

- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
- Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
