**Overview**:
Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, travel expenses, and all other bookkeeping activities. Prepare bank payments and enter bank statements. Maintain general ledger and reconcile account balances to detail for monthly financial statement preparation and reporting to supervisor. Stand in functions like preparing sales invoices and controlling tasks like preparing regular sales reports.

**Professional Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Associates Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years experience in bookkeeping/accounting.

**General**:

- High standard of integrity due to exposure of this position to extremely sensitive and highly confidential information.
- Extreme competency in attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Self-starter, motivated, with ability to work independently, as well as under the direction of others.
- Effective communication skills with supervisor and co-workers.
- Dependable in work habits and reliable in attendance.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing programs, preferably Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with Sage accounting software and NetSuite Oracle is preferred.
- Fluency in German, both oral and written, is essential.
- Good knowledge of English language, both oral and written, is essential.
- Knowledgeable in German/EC-standards accounting practices. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting practices desired.

**Position Responsibilities**:
**Specific**:

- Ensure compliance with all Germany statutory regulations.
- Prepare bank deposits and perform data entry of all customer payments.
- Record bank statements.
- Perform data entry of vendor invoices and process vendor payments. Ensure the correct accounting classification of all vendor invoices.
- Prepare sales invoices.
- Record fixed assets, maintain inventory list.
- Review the general ledger and all nominal accounts to ensure accuracy of recorded information with proper supporting documentation. Prepare monthly journal entries and closings and monthly and year-end financial statements. Report operating results to the Team Leader Accounting.
- Maintain deferred income schedules
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly controlling reports.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports as required by local and national government authorities.

**General**:
