The Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (OTH Regensburg) is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria, with over 10,000 students, 250 professors, and approximately 700 staff members.

Through new data sources, technologies, and artificial intelligence, we can gain better insights into and improve the planning and management of infrastructures and cities. For the corresponding research and teaching field, the OTH Regensburg is seeking a

**Research Associate (M/F/d) for a PhD in Artificial Intelligence for Infrastructure and UrbanDevelopment**

**Responsibilities**:

- Working on interdisciplinary research projects focusing on methods of Artificial Intelligence in future transportation and mobility, energy, infrastructure, and urban development, with an emphasis on:

- Planning, expansion, and optimization
- Predictive maintenance
- Pattern recognition, damage, and defect detection
- Dynamic control and proactive capacity and usage management
- Publishing research findings through presentations at international scientific conferences and in academic publications
- Assisting in acquiring external funding for projects
- Managing and coordinating project tasks
- Collaborating and communicating with industry and academic project partners
- Supporting teaching activities

**Requirements**:

- Above-average degree in a Master’s program (university or university of applied sciences) or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other relevant scientific or technical fields
- Proficiency in:

- Mathematical optimization, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning
- Data Analysis and Data Science
- Programming in Python
- Interest in transportation and mobility, energy, infrastructure, and urban development
- Ability to conduct independent and responsible research with industrial relevance
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Outstanding analytical skills
