Internship Application

We are offering an internship on a full time basis for at least 6 months in the Application & Simulation team: Two-Phase cooled PEM Fuel Cells.

The position is within Aerostack GmbH, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, part of the Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development and build competences and skills in the technology domain.

Working location will be Dettingen an der Erms, Germany (near Stuttgart)

**Your future role:
As a simulation engineer within our team your tasks are:

- Literature review on PEM fuel cell simulation, optimization & two-phase flow
- Design of models with CAD
- Setup of simplified CFD or FEM models
- Simulation of the models: Perform parameter sweeps or optimization
- Evaluation of simulation results and comparison with analytical results

**Your Responsibilities**
- 3D Design of parts
- Modelling with simulation software
(either CFD or FEM topics)
- Analysis and simulations
- Evaluation and reporting
- Validation with experimental results
- Algorithm development and scripting of workflows
- Support Aerostack’s Application and Simulation team with day to day topics

**What you bring**:

- BSc/MSc student in Applied Physics, Computational Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and processes of modelling and simulation (FEM/CFD)
- Familiarity with PEM fuel cells is a plus
- Software knowledge for FEM: Catia V5 or 3DX, COMSOL or similar
- Knowledge for CFD topics: Star-CCM+, HEEDS, Python and Java (GIT nice to have)
- Languages: English required. German would be a plus
- Pragmatic mindset and ambition for simplicity, fair team player and capability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
- “Can do attitude” and hunger. Eager to jump-in and get things done.
