Your role

As a Scientific Officer - Bioinformatics, X-ray Diffraction and Biophysical Characterization you will assist users in designing, analyzing and conducting integrative structural biology projects. You will utilize EMBL's SAXS and MX beamlines in conjunction with cutting-edge molecular biophysics technologies to study biomolecular assemblies. You will be tasked with developing user-friendly pipelines that integrate AI modeling, biophysical characterization, and structure determination. You will have the opportunity to develop your own relevant research activities within the framework of the team led by Maria Garcia Alai. Additionally, you will be involved in the supervision of master and PhD students.

Grading: 6 or 7; depending on experience and qualifications (monthly salary starting from 4.3k-4.9k EUR after tax + other paid benefits)

You have
- A PhD and demonstrate expertise in the fields of biophysics and biochemistry.
- A thorough understanding and hands-on experience with relevant standard biophysical techniques, handling challenging biological samples, and performing data analysis are prerequisites.
- Knowledge in bioinformatics and experience in data collection and analysis of MX and SAXS experiments is essential.
- Project management experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, and enthusiasm for working in an ambitious, multicultural scientific environment are expected.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.

Knowledge in fluorescence microscopy would be appreciated.
