Senior Geologist

The Heidelberg Competence Centers Cement (CCCs) are responsible for the deposit consultancy and Inventory of all HM raw material deposits in the BL Cement.

For our global Competence Center Cement (CCC) we are looking for a Senior Geologist (f/m/d) for deposit management in the cement industry.

As a Senior Raw Material Expert, you will consult and develop mining projects enforcing and living Heidelberg Materials mission of zero accidents and maximum environmental sustainability while at all time maintaining quality, budget, and time for execution of works.

Your place of work will be Heidelberg, Germany, and you will report to the Head of Geology&Mining, global Competence Center Cement.

**Your next challenge**:

- You will care for support to exploration campaigns for limestone deposits as well as for other deposits relevant for cement manufacturing (like clay, pozzolan and such)
- Transfer exploration data into state-of-the-art geochemical modelling using modern software tools and drill hole databases
- Mine planning with optimized use of mechanical infrastructure (loading&hauling, crushing) and in accordance to blending requirements
- Deposit filing in Geographical Information Systems
- Consult in exploitation, drilling and blasting, loading & hauling and material handling/crushing
- Support to midsize and large-scale investment projects

**Your profile**:

- You have a university degree in geology or mining
- You have demonstrated skills in working with modern deposit planning tools
- You have ideally 5 years of professional experience in the cement industry
- Work experience in foreign countries with multinational teams is required
- You have a good general knowledge about cement plant operation and health&safety practice for quarry operation
- You have very good English skills, additional language skills (French, German) are an advantage
- You are willing to extensively travel abroad
- You have sound risk management skills
