It was originally founded in 1943 by Kaihei Ushikubo under the name of Sankyo Electric Company and was first manufacturing bicycle lamps. This became a major turning point in the history of Sanden. In 1970, Sanden began producing air conditioning compressors for passenger cars. It has been pioneering the Scroll-type automotive compressor.

Sanden International (Europe) GmbH is looking for a **Working Student / Intern (f/m/d)** in Bad Nauheim (full-time). Within our Special Project department, you develop a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for our vehicle lifetime period using R290 as a refrigerant. This research project is expected to last 12-16 weeks. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk assessment methodologies and regulatory compliance within the automotive industry.

**Your tasks**:

- Research and identify relevant EU and global regulations and standards pertaining to automotive refrigerants, focusing on R290
- Understand and analyze these regulations to determine their impact and consequences for Sanden's operations and products
- Develop and implement an algorithm or simple work instruction for conducting a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) across various phases of the vehicle lifecycle, including testing, component assembly, road transport, vehicle assembly, dealership, vehicle lifetime, repair and end-of-life/recycling
- Collaborate with internal departments and working groups at Sanden to discuss the QRA findings, regulatory implications, and potential risk mitigation strategies
- Compile findings and insights into a comprehensive report detailing the QRA process, results and recommendations

**Qualifications** Desired experience and education**:

- Enrollment in a university program with a field of study in either Engineering, Environmental Sciences or similar
- First professional experience through internships desirable

**Expected skills**:

- Proficiency in conducting desktop research to gather regulatory information and technical data
- Confident handling of MS-Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Engineering mindset or good technical understanding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1)
- Ability to engage and collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders
- Knowledge of automotive regulations and standards is desirable
- Understanding of Quantitative Risk Assessment methodology advantageous
