**Your Role**:
We are currently seeking a Global Head of Learning within our HR organization to report into our Global Head of People & Organizational Growth. In this role you are responsible for all learning-related global solutions. You define, agree, develop, and oversee the strategic direction of the company as it relates to the corresponding solutions, processes, and issues.

You and your experienced team are responsible to:

- Ensure corporate readiness for future challenges by providing expert knowledge for the design and improvement of Learning and Development Solutions at Group level
- Hold global process ownership and governance of Organizational Solutions and Employee Lifecycle topics like (non-exhaustive):

- LinkedIn Learning
- Team Development (e.g. High-Impact Teams)
- Development Plan and Development Advisor
- Community Learning (e.g. Space to Grow, Learning Practitioner Community)
- Global Classroom Trainings
- Insights Training
- Partner with HR Business Partners, MBS, Procurement and business learning/capabilities teams to design, adapt, implement, and maintain global Learning & Development solutions
- Manage local learning offerings in alignment with global standards for the key markets

**Build and maintain a strong global team**
With regards to building and developing a high-performing and highly engaged global team, composed of diverse profiles (expertise, nationality, location, gender, generation...) you attract and develop new types of profiles within the organization and develop them for the future. Additionally, you collaborate strongly with other HR leaders, with special focus on the interdependencies and cross-collaborative projects within the Global Solution Owner pillar.

**Provide Governance and Thought Leadership**
You naturally act as an influencing thought leader, representing your organization internally and externally with regards to Learning & Development topics and having a strong mandate on business impact.

**Strategic Impact**

You have a strategic impact on the performance and future direction of Global Learning at group level and contribute to the overall HR strategy and our priority of fostering a High-Impact Culture by developing solutions that are critical to the entire employee lifecycle. In being responsible for solving or directing the resolution of highly complex problems in the areas of Learning & Development you influence both internal and external stakeholders, including key decision makers and senior leaders, and lead discussions that have a significant impact on the business.

**Scope of People Responsibility**

As a member of the People & Organizational Growth Leadership team, you hold a significant role in the organization. You are responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 highly skilled HR experts, who are located in various global locations and come from diverse backgrounds. Your people management approach is characterized by a high level of horizontal, indirect/project-based management, where you collaborate and influence teams across HR and other departments. In addition, you work closely with senior key stakeholders within the company, including the gHRLT (global HR leadership team), People & Organizational Growth Leadership Team, and Business Leaders. Your partnership with these stakeholders is crucial in driving strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment between HR and the overall business objectives.

**Who you are**:

- Advanced academic degree (Master, PhD) or equivalent work experience in business or Human Resources and its related fields
- Excellent process and project management capabilities including ability to align global processes to regional and local requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of proven, hands-on experience related to Learning & Development
- Previous leadership experience in matrix environments in a corporate role, with senior HR and Business Leadership exposure
- Experience in driving change in an international environment
- Proven knowledge or work experience in at least one of Merck's businesses (Healthcare, Life Science or Electronics)
- Strong organizational, assessment, problem solving and decision-making skills
