**Internship (M/F/d) Optimization Problems defined on Networks**:

Looking for a taste of working life in an international, future-focused corporate group? Then join us as an intern (M/F/d) and familiarise yourself with a suitable department for 3 to 6 months. You will be involved in large-scale projects and perform a defined set of duties independently. Use your internship to build a network and become familiar with our company.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Contribute to ongoing research activities on energy networks operations optimization, helping incorporate new models for different networked systems.
- Implement methods for heat networks in object-oriented python code.
- We expect that you show readiness to tackle difficult problems, above-average motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and proactiveness to come up with new ideas on how to overcome possible challenges.
- Driving an independent work task as a project team member.

**Your background**:

- You are currently enrolled in a master’s program in Mathematics or Physics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar knowledge.
- You are well-acquainted with the numerics of at least two of the following:

- Non-linear constrained optimization,
- Hyperbolic balance laws or (hyperbolic) partial differential equations,
- Ordinary differential equations.
- You are interested in solving complex industrial optimization problems.
- You have programming experience in an object-oriented language (e.g. Python, C/C++).
- You are familiar with git.
- You have a good command of written and spoken English
- You can show readiness to tackle difficult problems, above-average motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and proactiveness to come up with new ideas on how to overcome possible challenges.
- A bonus is experience with one of the following:

- Numerics of differential-algebraic equations,
- Modeling of heat networks,
- Writing software tests.
