**Duties**:

- Contracts and Fiscal Law. Serves as a Senior Civilian Attorney for the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate providing legal advice and policy guidance on all major government acquisitions and expenditures
- Real/ Personal Property Law. Serves as a Senior Civilian Attorney for the Office of the SJA providing legal advice and policy guidance on the acquisition, disposal, conversion, and management of U.S. Government real and personal property
- Administrative Law and Ethics Program. Serves as a Senior Civilian Attorney for the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate carrying out responsibilities in matters pertaining to administrative law

**Conditions of Employment**:

- U.S. Citizenship is required
- PCS expenses will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations
- Applicants must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- This is a Centrally Managed position in the Attorney Career Field
- Employee must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be currently licensed as an attorney, in active (or equivalent) status and in good standing, with the bar of a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth
- Employee must adhere to the Air Force Rules of Professional Conduct
- Employee may be required to work overtime
- Employee may be required to travel for temporary duty away from home station
- Employee may be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter
- Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement

**Qualifications**:
**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- You MUST have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD).

AND**SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the above requirement: you must have professional legal experience in excess of three (3) years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position**

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)**:Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

- 1. Must be a graduate of an American Bar Association-accredited law school and be admitted to the active practice of law before the highest court of a U.S. state, territory, possession, or commonwealth, or of the District of Columbia. Must have prior knowledge of, or experience in, Judge Advocate or DOD operations and procedures and general practice of law
- 2. Knowledge and extensive experience of substantive laws, regulations, and policies in federal acquisition law, fiscal law, government ethics, and federal real and personal property transactions and management in order to provide timely and accurate legal counsel
- 3. Ability to develop and foster relationships and work collaboratively with personnel of other military components, air staff, COCOMS, Joint Staff, DoD, DOJ, DOS, and others. Possess a high degree of skill in staff-level communications and in representing a legal office on the staff of a major overseas operational military command and understanding of staffing processes unique to the legal profession and the Air Force
- 4. Must have the ability to exercise independent professional judgment and work with very limited or no preliminary instructions. Advice must be technically accurate, thorough, and expressed in clear and succinct language
- 5. Ability to effectively communicate complex legal issues and theories with a diverse group of individuals, in and outside the legal profession, both orally and in writing, in both formal and informal settings
- 6. Knowledge and Experience in identifying key facts, gathering relevant data, assessing their significance, and conducting thorough legal research, to include use of computer-assisted technologies, to arrive at well-reasoned and supportable recommendations and/or solutions to legal problems in areas of the law which are not necessarily well-settled, including matters requiring creativity and originality-
**PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE**:Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.**VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE**:Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
