Wir führen öffentlich geförderte Forschungsvorhaben im Bereich des nachhaltigen Wirtschaftens durch, in aller Regel in enger Zusammenarbeit mit innovativen Praxispartnern, und erstellen Studien für staatliche und zivilgesellschaftliche Auftraggeber.
Ein zentrales Forschungsfeld des Borderstep Institutes ist Digitalisierung & Klimaschutz. Hier wird untersucht, welche Effekte digitale Techniken und Anwendungen auf den Energieverbrauch und den Klimaschutz haben. Dies können einerseits Chancen für den Klimaschutz sein, indem IT-Anwendungen genutzt werden, um Energieverbräuche und Klimagasemissionen zu senken. Andererseits können durch den Einsatz der Technik auch zu zusätzliche Energie
- und Ressourcenverbräuche erzeugt werden. Borderstep analysiert und bewertet solche Effekte und forscht gemeinsam mit Partnern an neuen Lösungen, um Nachhaltigkeit und Digitalisierung zu vereinbaren.

**Aufgabenbeschreibung**:
- Mitarbeit in Forschungsprojekten zu den Themen Digitalisierung, Energieeffizienz sowie Energie
- und Wärmewende.
- Analyse des Energieverbrauchs und der Umwelt
- und Klimaeffekte von Informations
- und Telekommunikationstechnik sowie Bewertung von Umweltwirkungen, z.B. mittels Ökobilanzierung.
- Identifikation und Bewertung von digitalen Trends sowie Analyse und Konzeption von Geschäftsmodellen für neue nachhaltige digitale Lösungen.
- Analyse von Flexibilitäts
- und Abwärmepotenzialen von Informations
- und Telekommunikationstechnik und deren Nutzung in Strom
- und Wärmenetzen.
- Modellierung informations
- und energietechnischer Fragestellungen.
- Beteiligung an der Akquise neuer Vorhaben sowie Aufbau und Pflege von Kooperationen mit Forschungspartnern im Themenfeld.
**Erwartete Qualifikationen**:
- Masterabschluss mit technischem, naturwissenschaftlichem oder wirtschaftswissenschaftlichem Hintergrund z.B. aus den Fachrichtungen Umwelttechnik, Energiewirtschaft, Informationstechnik oder Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen.
- Interesse an der Bearbeitung wissenschaftlicher Fragestellungen und an aktiver wissenschaftlicher Publikationstätigkeit.
- Selbstständige Arbeitsweise und Teamfähigkeit.
- Sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch (Wort und Schrift).
