Joining the Human Resources team at EMBL Heidelberg, you'll have the opportunity to support scientists around the world, whose mission is to improve biodiversity in the face of climate change and make discoveries leading to improved human health.

EMBL is an intergovernmental organization, and is an Associated member of Coordinated Organizations. This means that EMBL has its own regulatory system, social security system, offers tax-exempt salaries and employment conditions to staff similar to those at OECD, NATO or CERN, just to name a few.

2024 is an exciting year for our HR team as we are implementing a new ERP/HCM system across EMBL's 6 sites. Delivering modern HR practices will increase efficiencies and enable the team to focus on what matters most: our people.

During this busy time we have an opportunity for an Intern or working student to join the HR Partner Team in Heidelberg for a period of 6 months, starting as soon as possible.

This opportunity would suit a student who is interested in getting more experience in HR processes and projects and who is excited by the challenge of providing an excellent service in a stimulating international environment. As part of the HR Partner Team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality, comprehensive project support as well as supporting the HR Partner Team with administrative tasks in line with internal guidelines and procedures.

Your role

As an intern / working student in the HR Partner team, you will have the opportunity to learn about all facets of modern personnel management while supporting our highly motivated team in all aspects of operational and strategic HR management.

**You will be involved in the** following **main tasks**:

- Actively support the HR Partners in their daily work, pursuing operational and strategic tasks and the execution of core HR processes (e. performance or contract management processes)
- Supporting the HR partner team in the HR transformation program and become part of projects such as Performance Management, introduction of the new HCM software solution, hybrid working etc.
- Updating the HR intranet presence,
- Supporting the HR partners in preparing and delivering HR presentations,
- Reviewing processes, procedures and policies,
- Building the internal knowledge base.

- You are a team player with a strong "hands-on" mentality, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You are able to work independently and already demonstrated a proactive approach and strong customer orientation in previous relevant experiences
- You also have strong organisational and communication skills, reliability as well as the ability to plan and prioritise your work.
- Very good command of English is essential; intercultural competence is beneficial
