The impact you will make
As a formulation chemist, you will be a crucial part of the fusion targets (fuel) development. Together with the theoretical and experimental groups at Marvel Fusion, you will coordinate with nanotechnologists and surface scientists to define the target´s design. You will work side by side with in-house and external collaborators and experts in the field to advance the fusible target´s research and development. Part of your work will also be helping to outline budgets, timelines, and milestones across internal and external developments. Additionally, you will conduct experiments in partner facilities to validate the target´s fabrication protocol and optimize its specifications. In the mid-term, you will help organize and set up an in-house target fabrication laboratory.

**More specifically, you will**:
Conduct target research and development efforts in cooperation with an internal team of scientists, external collaborators, and suppliers.

Align with the target team both day-to-day operations and roadmap direction.

Set up and cooperate with external collaborators (private companies, science institutions, etc.)

Help to grow target resources as needed (e.g., additional equipment, headcount, expertise, etc.)

Actively work with the Theoretical and Experimental groups to develop new technological breakthroughs.

Help keep growing the target team, including recruiting and onboarding

What you bring

A doctorate in science or engineering, e.g., chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related.

Extensive experience in experimental formulation chemistry, wet lab techniques, and inert atmosphere conditions such as glovebox and/or Schlenk line.

Several years of experience formulating solutions to optimize for properties such as viscosity, surface tension, volatility, etc.

Hands-on experience with deposition techniques such as spin-, dip
- and spray-coating or similar.

Several years of experience with chemical characterization (e.g., IR, Raman, etc.) and materials characterization (e.g., SEM, TEM, TGA, XPS, EDX, etc.) methods.

Experience in main group chemistry, specifically boron, is a plus.

Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English to effectively ensure interaction with all members of Marvel Fusion and its collaborators.
