Research Associate (Postdoc)

The position is offered for a period of 2 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 100 %).

**Tasks**:

- include scientific services in research
- Investigating the role of nucleotide-based messengers in the response of human
- and yeast cells to stress and ageing.
- Multidisciplinary collaboration within an international environment
- International communication in research by publications and participation in conferences

The position will be filled by a temporary contract that is limited to the period which is necessary to gain further scientific expertise (such as the preparation for a subsequent qualification period). Within the entrusted tasks the opportunity for independent scientific work to obtain further personal qualification is given. The limitation of the contract complies to - 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG.

**Profile**:

- Successful degree from a university or similar higher education organization (Diploma, Master oder equal) in the field of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or medicine and Doctorate or proof of a doctoral procedure that is about to be completed
- Experience in dealing with yeast and/or human cell lines
- Experience in molecular biology and/or biochemistry
- Strong interest in unraveling molecular mechanisms
- Independent, autonomous thinking
- Motivated and passionate team player

The motivation to gain your own scientific qualification (e. g. through a project in the field of biochemistry/microbiology) is expected.
