Your Profile
Full professorship (half time) within the Department of Angewandte Ingenieurwissenschaften, University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern. The position is funded by the Bund-Länder-Programme FH-Personal (W1LBesO). The area of expertise sought is Computational Fluid Mechanics.
We are looking for a person with a degree in engineering or applied mathematics/physics and a special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate.

We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.
The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.
Active participation in the university’s research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.
We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus. German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language is mainly German.
The hiring requirements for professors are regulated in Sec 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in particular:

- A university degree in engineering
- Pedagogical aptitude, which has to be proven separately, and
- Special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate.
