**What you will do**

We are currently seeking an HR Director for Northern Europe to partner with the business and be responsible for over 4000 employees. Responsibilities will span a range of HR job functions and will focus on aligning our strategic objectives with human capital strategies, specifically for senior and mid-level leadership.

**How you will do it**

Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. Translate strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.

Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action affecting the attraction, motivation, development and retention.

Partner and develop effective strategies with COEs such as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, D&I and L&D.

Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce appropriate HR policies, programs, tools and HR technology strategies for effective management of the people resources of the organization for the direct and indirect labor organizations.

Maintain knowledge of global and local HR policies, programs, laws and issues. Understand the differences of domestic and international policies and programs and coordinates the integration of all such programs.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required.

Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase retention.

Co-lead the relationship between Johnson Controls and our European Works Council.

**What we look for**
- Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred
- Multi-year experience in HR at senior HR business partner, country HR manager, or similar level.
- Knowledge of regional (multi-country) labor relations policies, strategies, risk mitigation and legal landscape
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across organizations to optimize outcomes.
- Ability to be an effective leader in a fast paced, pressure environment.
- Ability to think strategically and translate plans into phased actions.
- Experience with Works Councils and / or Unions in at least 2 continental European locations.
- Strong communicator able to interact and work with peers and leadership in the various departments within the company assisting in achieving goals and objectives.
