GIU Berlin invites applications for part-time University Lecturer positions on a per-course, semester-based contract for its English-taught undergraduate and graduate programs. This is an on-site role in Berlin involving close interaction with students and teaching assistants. The University Lecturer will be responsible for:
Deliver structured, practice-oriented on-site lectures in line with accredited curricula (typically 16 weeks, with 12 weeks of lectures and 4 weeks dedicated to assessments, including exams, assignments, and projects).
Design, conduct, and evaluate student assessments, including exams, assignments, and practical or project-based work.
Ensure clear alignment between course learning outcomes, teaching content, and assessment methods.
Supervise and coordinate with the course Teaching Assistant to support effective course delivery.
Contribute to a well-organized teaching environment that upholds academic integrity and quality assurance standards.
PhD degree in one of the following or related fields: Demonstrated ability to deliver university-level teaching, including assessment design and student supervision.
Strong subject-specific teaching methodology and presentation skills.
Proficiency in English (German language skills are desirable but not mandatory).
Must hold German residency, with preference for candidates living in Berlin or nearby areas.
Part-time teaching appointments with semester-based contracts and the possibility of renewal based on performance and course availability.
Teach motivated, international students in an English-taught environment, with opportunities for research collaboration.
Predictable teaching schedules planned in advance of each semester.
