Pre-Commissioning Manager | Major Capital Programme Germany | Long-Term Contract ENG Bauen is proud to be partnering with a global industrial organisation to deliver a multi-year, capital-intensive programme focused on advanced materials and next-generation chemical technologies. We are currently seeking a Pre-Commissioning Manager to join the project execution team during the final construction phase of a complex, state-of-the-art processing facility. This is a high-profile role for an experienced pre-commissioning professional who can take ownership of all readiness activities across mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines, ensuring systems are prepared, verified, and delivered in line with operational and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in capital project pre-commissioning within chemical, petrochemical, or advanced manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of operational safety, interface coordination, and vendor management. This role offers a long-term contract and presents an excellent opportunity to shape operational readiness for one of the industry’s most innovative processing facilities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute the full pre-commissioning strategy and plan, including scope, scheduling, resource planning, and risk mitigation Lead system readiness verification, including mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems Oversee flushing, loop checks, box-up, and ITR management to ensure compliance and timely handover to commissioning Coordinate vendor testing and specialized equipment validation in alignment with project standards Interface with cross-functional stakeholders across construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations Provide leadership to the pre-commissioning site team, ensuring engagement, safety, and high performance Deliver structured progress reporting and maintain alignment with project KPIs and milestones Ideal Candidate: 15+ years of pre-commissioning experience on large-scale chemical, petrochemical, or industrial processing projects Proven success managing multi-discipline pre-commissioning teams across greenfield or brownfield projects Fluent or strong working knowledge of German (essential for site coordination and regulatory interfaces) Strong leadership presence with the ability to operate strategically and hands-on in the field Deep understanding of risk management, functional safety, system integrity, and operational readiness Comfortable working in a matrix environment with multiple reporting lines Proficiency in digital turnover systems, ITR management, and structured handover processes If you are an experienced pre-commissioning professional and would like to learn more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch or apply for this opportunity.
