Senior Short Term Power Trader

Oxygen Digital have partnered with a leading industrial energy organisation undergoing a major expansion of its short term power trading capability. We are looking for a Senior Short Term Power Trader to drive the development of real-time algorithmic trading strategies across Short Term European Power Markets. You will join a highly technical team building a next generation automated trading environment within a complex, asset-backed trading ecosystem.
Design and implement the full algorithmic intraday trading stack, integrating vendor solutions and off-the-shelf models where appropriate.
• Build data and digital connections across internal platforms, data lakes and quant resources to enable automated execution with minimal manual intervention.
• Define trading logics, decision trees and optimisation methods across intraday, continuous and auction markets.
• Collaborate closely with quants, data engineers and balancing teams to deliver a scalable, commercially effective platform.
Architect level experience with hands on algorithmic trading exposure in short term power markets (2–7+ years).
• Strong data and programming skills, ideally Python; C++ advantageous.
• Understanding of European power trading, renewables and optimisation beneficial.
Permanent
Salary: €80,000-100,000 Plus performance bonus
