Visiting Professor: Communication Job description A well-established university with locations in several countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia) is looking for three university teachers at the level of Visiting Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor to teach remotely one course and/or mentor one doctoral candidate, in English, in "PhD in Communication" program. This is a contract opportunity - not full time. We are looking for both one year (2025/26) appointments and long-term partnerships. Basic requirements: PhD and strong publications are a must. Location The study will be based in Vienna, Austria, but you may work remotely from anywhere. About Alma Mater Europaea University Alma Mater Europaea University is an accredited university with campuses in Vienna, Austria, and Maribor, Ljubljana, Koper, Slovenia. It was founded by the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, the association of 2000 scholars, including 37 Nobel Prize laureates. Over 2000 students from 30 countries study in 25 PhD, masters and bachelor programs. You will remotely (or in person if you and the student are in Austria) teach/mentor at Austrian campus of the University. We are looking for: - a person who will teach one courses in area within Communication Science, Public Relations, Media, Comunivology, social media, marketing, strategic communication, communication management, public opninion, etc. (broadly defined)- PhD is a must - at least three scholarly articles in SCOPUS or SSCI (Clarivate, Web of Science) are a must, including one in last 5 years - you may be located in any country to teach online - previous experience in teaching appointment at another university are desired but not necessary - You may develop a course or teach one of our accredited courses Professors who are full time employed at anoher university are most welcome to serve as visiting professors or PhD mentors. You must meet one of these two criteria: — currently holding a job as Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor at another accredited university — have at least 100 citations in Google Scholar You will join a distinctly international team of researchers and teachers. We are seeking to fill three contract/ adjunct/visiting positions of lecturers. Teaching will start in Summer or Fall 2026. Responsibilities: * A course lasts between 3 and 5 weeks, with once weekly 2-4 hours meetings, and students assignments. A total of 6 to 15 contact hours with students, and some individual communication with students to assign and review projects. * PhD supervisor * Develop course content, syllabus, lessons plan, and assigned work * Lead and attend all online class sessions, teaching, tutoring * Establish and maintain a dynamic in-class environment * Evaluate student work, and monitor and address student concerns and inquiries * Start teaching/mentoring in October 2026 You may choose to only supervise PhDs or serve on committees without teaching.
