Business Intelligence and Database Analyst

The focus of this role is the development and production of business performance reports to enable operational excellence within Alimera Sciences GmbH, supporting execution of Brand Plans Key Performance Objectives, while maintaining compliance with local laws and codes of conduct.
The scope of the role will be production of sales data analyses and commercial reports, translation of CRM and market data into clear KPI trends and corrective measures, and the technical implementation of automated reporting processes leveraging AI-based tools for efficiency gains.

Creation of advanced Power BI reports and high-end Excel reports will provide insights to support fast, informed decision making at individual field-based–, as well as management level.

Such Business Systems include those used for Business Reporting (predominantly Excel, PowerBI, Salesforce), Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce, CRM), Training Systems, Business Support (DropBox), Governance and Compliance, Finance Support, marketing materials development & approval (Veeva Promomats).

Dimensions of the role are set out in the summary, requiring close collaboration with the Alimera GmbH Country Manager, Alimera GmbH Head of Sales, as well as withthe President, International Operations, International Finance and other key stakeholders within the business.
Sales Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze complex CRM and sales datasets (Salesforce, later Veeva).
Identify patterns, deviations, and opportunities in revenue, sales volume, and market share data.
Translate data into clear KPIs, trends, and corrective measures.
Provide insights to support fast, informed decision-making at management level
Build and maintain data pipelines and queries (SQL, Python, R).
Design and manage ETL workflows, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Create advanced Power BI dashboards and high-impact Excel reports.
Ensure data visualization is intuitive and actionable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Supports Training to field-based team members on the correct use of CRM tool Salesforce, later Veeva – by way of regular updates and as part of induction training of new staff.
Governance and Compliance
~ Works with Quality and Legal to ensure that Salesforce, later Veeva Vault is operating smoothly and that Alimera Sciences GmbH is in line with Corporate guidelines.


Degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field
Proven track record as Business Intelligence Analyst / Data Analyst, ideally with sales or pharma-related data
Strong command of SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R)
Advanced expertise in Power BI and Excel
Experience with Salesforce Analytics; Knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and database management
Project Management Skills
Good German (working language in the team) and solid English for international collaboration

Übersetzen von Daten in klare KPIs, Trends und Korrekturmaßnahmen.
Bereitstellung von Erkenntnissen zur Unterstützung schneller, fundierter Entscheidungen auf Management-Ebene
Erstellung und Pflege von Datenpipelines und Abfragen (SQL, Python, R).
Erstellung erweiterter Power BI-Dashboards und aussagekräftiger Excel-Berichte.
Unterstützung bei der Schulung von Außendienstmitarbeitern in der korrekten Verwendung des CRM-Tools Salesforce, später Veeva - durch regelmäßige Updates und als Teil der Einführungsschulung neuer Mitarbeiter.
Governance und Compliance
~ Zusammenarbeit mit der Qualitäts- und Rechtsabteilung, um sicherzustellen, dass Salesforce und später Veeva Vault reibungslos funktionieren und dass die Alimera Sciences GmbH die Unternehmensrichtlinien einhält.


Hochschulabschluss in Wirtschaftsinformatik, Informatik, Data Science, Statistik oder einem verwandten Bereich
Nachgewiesene Erfolgsbilanz als Business Intelligence Analyst / Datenanalyst, idealerweise mit vertriebs- oder pharmarelevanten Daten
Fundierte Kenntnnisse in SQL und mindestens einer Programmiersprache (Python oder R)
Fortgeschrittene Kenntnisse in Power BI und Excel
Erfahrung mit Salesforce Analytics; Bereitschaft zur beruflichen Weiterbildung
Gutes Deutsch (Arbeitssprache im Team) und solides Englisch für die internationale Zusammenarbeit
