At the Department of Materials Science, Faculty of Engineering at Kiel University at the Chair of Composite Materials (Prof. Tayebeh Ameri), starting at the earliest date possible, we are looking for a Researcher (PhD Position) Defect and Encapsulation Engineering in Perovskite Photovoltaic Cells If you are passionate about renewable energy and materials science, have experience in fabrication and characterization of perovskites, and want to contribute to groundbreaking research, you should join our team at Kiel University Faculty of Technology, Department of Materials Science, Chair of Composite Materials. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person who wants to work extensively in the exciting field of improving perovskite solar cells. The position is limited to a period of three years and will be paid according to E 13 TV-L. The regular weekly working time is 75% of full time employment (currently 29.025 hours). The cooperation in teaching (extent: 3 SWS, including seminars, exercises and internships) is an integral part of this employment. Job Description: Research: In this role, you will contribute to a cutting-edge project focused on perovskite photovoltaics, developing novel concepts for defect passivation and encapsulation barrier foils. Our approach combines solution-processing and vapor-deposition techniques to advance the stability and operational lifetime of perovskite solar cells. Teaching: Supervision of tutorials and/or internships as part of the bachelor's and master's degree program in materials science. Your profile: We are looking for someone who is committed, enjoys working independently, is enthusiastic about scientific questions and works on them precisely. You should have the following qualifications • proven proficiency in the fabrication and characterization of perovskite photovoltaics (necessary)• a very good master’s degree in materials science or engineering, physics or chemistry • very good knowledge in the border area between materials science, physics and chemistry • experience with advanced thin-film characterization techniques (desired)• familiarity with vapor-deposition techniques (desired)• theoretical and simulation skills (desired)• fluent in English with excellent writing and communication skills comparable to at least level B2, a similar knowledge of the German language is also highly desired A high degree of initiative and teamwork as well as the willingness to cooperate and collaborate in teaching are required.
